The Spirit convicts of sin (a belief issue), righteousness (because Jesus is no longer physically present), and coming judgment. At the resurrection Jesus breathed on the disciples the same way God breathed life into Adam—they were born again.
The proof is change you can see, like wind you cannot see. Even after salvation the Spirit keeps working until we finally let go of what we used to hold. This message prepares the way for the power that comes with the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
